Dial-a-dealer allegedly caught with 31 bags of cocaine

A man has been granted bail after he was allegedly found with bags of cocaine inside a chewing gum container when stopped by police targeting “dial-a-dealers” in Sydney’s CBD on Thursday.

Zabiullah Sadiqi, 31, was pulled over in a Hyundai Accent on Sussex St about 4pm when officers allegedly seized 31 bags of cocaine and about $4000 in cash.

Some of the drugs were allegedly concealed inside an Extra chewing gum container inside the car.

Police will allege in court the drugs seized were potentially worth thousands of dollars on the street.

Mr Sadiqi, of Granville, was taken to Day St police station and charged with drug supply and dealing with the proceeds of crime.

He was held overnight before appearing in court on Friday, where Magistrate Mitch Crompton granted him conditional bail.

Under his bail conditions he has been banned from entering the CBD and must report to Granville police station three times per week.

Mr Sadiqi will return to court on August 14.
