Victoria’s homicide squad are investigating the death of 22-year-old man whose body was found in a Melbourne CBD apartment last night, with multiple stab wounds.
Emergency services were called to an apartment building on La Trobe Street on Saturday 30 May, around 11pm, after reports of an assault, according to Ambulance Victoria.
However, they were unable to save the injured man, who had succumbed to his stab wounds.
A 22-year-old Williamstown man was arrested a short distance from the scene and is currently assisting police with their inquiries, police said in a statement.
A crime scene has been established with detectives working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Several police units can be seen outside the an apartment building on 673 La Trobe Street, where the man was discovered last night.
Police are guarding the entrance to the Lacrosse Residences building.
