John Bateman declares he hasn’t played his last Canberra Raiders game as he sets out for more surgery.

The 2019 Dally M second rower of the year John Bateman's NRL future has been tossed significantly further into the air subsequent to being constrained into a second round of shoulder surgery.

 

British import and Canberra star Bateman will go under the knife on Thursday, ruling him out indefinitely.

In a statement made by the Raiders star “I’m gutted to be having surgery again but it’s what’s best for me and the team and to help me get back on the field as soon as possible,”.

“I’ll be working harder than ever with my rehab to get myself back on the field with the lads. See you all soon.”

Bateman had just missed the initial three rounds of 2020 after an off-season medical procedure and, his most recent setback provides reason to feel ambiguous about yet further his future in Canberra.

There had been rumours he would return home to England on a rewarding five-year manage his old club Wigan, permitting the strike forward to likewise re-join with his daughter Millie.

However in a post to twitter, Bateman declared to Canberra fans that they haven’t seen the last of him.
