Renee Reynolds fourth person charged with Ballarat murder

A fourth person has been charged with murder over the death of Ballarat mum Kobie Parfitt.

Renee Bridget Reynolds, 31, appeared briefly in the Ballarat Magistrates Court on Friday morning.

The Mount Clear woman, wearing a black hooded jumper, wiped her eyes continuously throughout the hearing.

Ms Parfitt, 43, was last been seen alive at a Hickman Street property in Ballarat on April 28.

Police located human remains in a mine shaft in Snake Valley on December 22 while they were searching the area as part of the investigation into her disappearance.

Victoria Police spokeswoman Leonie Johnson said on Friday the investigation remained ongoing.

“But police are not looking for any other persons in relation to this matter,” she said.

Ms Reynolds joins three others charged with the murder of Ms Parfitt: Brendon James Prestage, 31, from Wendouree; Shannon Jeffrey, 32, who is already in jail for other matters; and Jacob Ford, 35, also already in a correctional facility.

All four will appear in the Ballarat Magistrates Court on May 6.

Ms Parfitt’s mum, Kathy Snowball, made an emotional plea for information about her daughter’s disappearance in November and said she was a beautiful person who loved her children.

“She was a loving girl, she loved her kids, the one I knew was a beautiful person who lost her way,” Ms Snowball said.

Investigators are urging anyone with any information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
