A Sydney man will face court today, accused of brutally beating a kitten to death.
Bibek Katwal, 25, will face Central Local Court today after he allegedly attacked the animal on Sunday.
Police allege Mr Katwal was at a unit on Palmerston Ave in the eastern Sydney suburb of Bronte at 5pm when he grabbed the occupant’s kitten.
Witnesses described the horrific moment Mr Katwal allegedly slammed the owner’s 12-week old Bengal kitten into the ground.
He then allegedly picked up the kitten from the ground and threw it against a wall.
The kitten was taken to a nearby vet however tragically died a short time later.
Following inquiries, officers attached with Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command attended an apartment on Pitt St, Haymarket, just after 1pm last night and arrested Mr Katwal.
He was taken to Day Street Police Station where he was charged with recklessly beat/kill an animal.
Mr Katwal spent the night behind bars after he was refused bail and will face court today.
